The advantages of a Class T fuses.
A Class T fuse is a current limiting fuse that comes in two voltage ratings, 300V and 600V. They are similar to Class R fuses as they also have rejection features to prevent improper installation. Unlike Class R fuses however, Class T fuses are only available as a fast acting fuse. Further, at about one third the size of a Class R fuse, they take up much less space. Rated to interrupt at least 200,000 amps, Class T fuses are fit for a number of applications across commercial and industrial sectors.
When to use your Class T fuse.
Standard fuse applications for Class T fuses include protecting general purpose circuits and non-inductive loads, as well as providing supplementary protection for circuit breakers. They’re especially ideal for load centers, fuse boxes, and panelboards due to their relatively small footprint and high performance protection. They can also be used in motor circuits, but can only protect against short circuits, not overloads. Current ratings for Class T fuses can be as high as 1200A.
