Square D Circuit Breakers
Square D circuit breakers, manufactured by Schneider Electric, are among the most recognizable and widely installed breakers in North America. Electrical contractors encounter Square D equipment across virtually every type of facility—from residential homes and small commercial buildings to large industrial plants and mission-critical infrastructure. Well-known product families include PowerPact molded case breakers, Masterpact air circuit breakers, and the widely used QO and Homeline residential breaker lines found in millions of load centers.
In commercial and industrial installations, Square D breakers are commonly used in panelboards, switchboards, and switchgear systems designed around the company’s extensive distribution product ecosystem. Popular molded case frames such as FA, FH, KA, and LA breakers have been industry standards for decades, and many remain in service today. The longevity of Square D equipment means replacement breakers are frequently required to maintain or expand existing electrical systems.
About Schneider Electric / Square D
There from earliest stages of electricity, Schneider Electric’s roots go as far back as the Industrial Revolution. With a deep commitment to research and development, Schneider Electric is committed to building forward-thinking, sustainable electrical solutions. Schneider eventually bolstered their portfolio by acquiring Squared D in 1991. Founded in 1902 as Detroit Fuse and Manufacturing, Square D initially specialized in fuses and fuse switches before ultimately becoming a leader in power distribution solutions alongside Schneider Electric. Today as one unit, they manufacturer some of the most reliable circuit breakers, panelboards, transformers and disconnects in the industry.
