Westinghouse Circuit Breakers
Westinghouse circuit breakers were once a dominant presence in North American electrical distribution systems and remain widely installed in older commercial and industrial facilities. For decades, Westinghouse manufactured breakers used in panelboards, switchgear, and switchboards found in factories, office buildings, universities, and infrastructure projects across the country.
Common Westinghouse breaker families include EHB, FDB, HFB, and other molded case frames, along with larger industrial breakers used in switchgear systems. These breakers became well known for their robust construction and reliability, which is why many installations remain operational today.
Over time, the Westinghouse electrical distribution business was acquired by Eaton, and many breaker designs evolved into the modern Eaton and Cutler-Hammer product lines. However, a significant number of facilities still rely on original Westinghouse breakers that are no longer manufactured.
When replacement breakers are required for these systems, contractors and maintenance teams often seek used or professionally reconditioned Westinghouse breakers to maintain compatibility with existing panels and switchgear. This approach allows facilities to restore protection quickly without replacing entire distribution assemblies.

About Westinghouse
Founded by George Westinghouse in 1886, Westinghouse Electrical Company was a pioneer in AC power and created the first ever functioning molded case circuit breaker. A company that was synonymous with innovation, the electrical distribution branch of Westinghouse was acquired by Eaton in 1994. The coming together of two heritage brands has resulted in smart, efficient energy solutions that help people and businesses succeed.
