The many types of magnetic contactors.
Used across low voltage applications, magnetic contactors utilize a magnetic operating principle to control and handle motor loads, lighting systems and heating systems. These types of contactors can be relatively small in size and come in a variety of voltage ratings, up to 600V. Current ratings for magnetic contactors can range anywhere from 50A to 200A. And whether you need an industrial contactor or commercial contactor, there is a magnetic contactor for you.
Definite purpose magnetic contactors, AC magnetic contactors, DC magnetic contactors, single phase magnetic contactor and 3 phase magnetic contactors are all available options. Magnetic contactors can be specially designed to withstand the stresses that come with heavy motor applications while providing protection from dangerous electrical arcs.
The working principle of magnetic contactors.
Relying on electromagnetic forces, all magnetic contactors utilize the same basic operating mechanism and 4 core components: power contacts, contactor coils, a core (typically iron) and auxiliary contacts. The power contacts carry the current while the contactor coils put pressure on and ultimately make contact with the power contacts. Electricity runs through the core of the contactor creating an electromagnetic force that keeps the contacts and contactor coils together.
Shopping for a magnetic contactor just got easier.
